As you may have heard by now here in the United States our government has shut down because our congress could not reach an agreement on a budget. Regardless of where you stand on this topic, I want to let you know that this government shut down actually opens up a huge opportunity for you to profit online.
With a shut down like this it is almost a certainty that the stock market will be making some pretty serious moves. Whenever people are confused or unsure about the future ahead the stock market usually makes big shifts.
This is where my friend Eric Holmlund and his business partner Dave Valliers
comes into the mix here. For the past several years they have been teaching
people how to successfully navigate the ups and downs of the stock market.
Their wildly successful course has been downloaded by thousands of people, and
they make six figures annually just with this business alone.
The crazy thing is that for the next 5 days only they are offering rights to this
entire six figure online empire. That means you can swipe their proven profitable
business product and all! You can sell it and keep 100% of the profits!
Now take action and profit while the opportunity is at it’s peak! Don’t let the Government Shutdown get you down. Seize the opportunity in front of you. This is an evergreen niche that even after the Government Shutdown is over will still be extremely profitable with other opportunities for your clients.
I wanted to share 6 resources including articles that I have found personally useful to my success making money online. I hope you will take the time to review these and share your favorite marketing articles below in the comment section.
#1) Google’s Own Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide
As you know search engine optimization can be an important way to get free website visitors. The problem is that it can be hit or miss, and a difficult thing to completely understand. Even though you can’t rely completley on SEO as your only traffic source I still advise you to at least make sure you have the basics implemented on your site.
Google has actually created their own Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide as a PDF that you can download and read at your convenience.
To further enhance the SEO you do moving forward make sure you are using social sharing buttons on your site. These are links that visitors can click on to share the content on your site to Facebook, TWitter, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.
If you are using WordPress you can use the Digg Digg
plugin or for your static HTML or PHP sites you can use the sharing options available at www.AddThis.com. They also have a WordPress plgin you can use.
The key to good SEO is having good content that is good for your users, and that will lead to shares and potential backlinks for your content.
#2) Get The Inside Scoop On Joint Ventures
Arguably the fastest and most targeted source of website traffic will come from joint venture partners. These are people in your niche market that have email lists that can promote for you. Eric Holmlund of Eric’s Tips lays out in detail the process he goes through to get joint venture partners.
Eric knows his stuff about this topic and he has made millions in the process because of joint venture partners. He is one of the most qualified people in the industry to talk about this topic. I am also proud to say Eric is a good friend and business partner with myself and Jeff Wellman in the Real Coaching Club.
If there is any lesson you take to heart it is this one on joint ventures.
It is more important than ever before to ensure you have a site that works across all platforms. This article will help you learn the basics of multi-device websites, teach you how to test your current website, and further assist with the building of a multi-device website.
This is a collection of articles from Google’s new Think Insights. You can get full articles and case studies here to ensure you are on top of the trends with mobile site optimization, and how this plays into your marketing efforts.
#4) How To Make $1,000,000 Per Month With Digital Products
This is by far the best interview I have ever read on the topic of making money with digital products. Even though this interview was done about 2 years ago it is still extremely relevant today, and this is some awesome evergreen content on the topic of information marketing. Mike Greary who is famous for his course on Clickbank called “The Truth About Abs” reveals deep insights into how he has taken this one digital product and transformed it into an enterprise that is generating over $1,000,000 in sales each and every month!
You also can’t go wrong with the interviewer which is Tim Ferriss.
This article gives you a behind the scenes look at how the author had a single blog post get over 100,000 views! You can glean a lot of insight into how to create content for your blog so you increase the shares, traffic, and exposure for your website online.
Creating content like he lays out is exactly what the search engines are looking for. Use his insights as a guide for your next blog post, and you should see some great results!
Anyone remotely interested in getting free, targeted traffic from Google or other search engines through search engine optimization should watch this recent video from Matt Cutts who works at Google.
He provides some of the top information out there, and gives you insights that only a Google employee can. You can click here to go to his blog post.

After about a week of being down I finally am getting all of my websites live again. I have moved to a dedicated server finally. Really can’t say why I didn’t do this sooner, but eventually you reach a point in your business when even shared hosting just doesn’t cut it.
So with that all said I am on my own dedicated server which means faster load times for my blog, a better experience for all users, and with this new found freedom on my own server I plan to do a lot more.
I have an exciting launch coming up with Eric Holmund, Jeff Wellman, and I. We are releasing a huge Internet Marketing technical video training course that is much needed. If you are interested in promoting this one of a kind event make sure you go to http://www.videofiresale.com/jvblog.
It feels good to be live again! Thanks for your patience during this time! I plan to host a longer post soon about my experience.
One of the biggest proofs out there that nobody’s website is safe is the fact that today GoDaddy was hacked and millions of websites who are hosted through them went down as a result. Read more here about GoDaddy attack.
I am not writing this to scare you, but to encourage you that throughout your online business ventures things out of your control will happen. Some of these issues could include websites going down (like today), outsourcers not getting something done for you, important family matters that require you to be taken from your business, your payment processor shutting you down, etc.
Stuff Will Go Wrong
The important point is that stuff will go wrong. How you react to those issues is the important thing. Even though it may be tempting to just give up or walk away you don’t want to do this. An online business is no different than any regular business. Those that are successful time and time again in business and life always attack the issues head on and get to a resolution.
So my online business tip today is to not be shocked when things go wrong, and to never give up no matter what. I know I sound cliche saying this, but it is so true because about everything under the sun has happened to me that impeded my success online the way. My websites have been down numerous times (around busy times even), outsourcers have missed important deadlines for me, many family issues have come up that pulled me from my business along the years, and my payment main payment processor (Paypal) has decided to shut me down numerous times.
Everytime I attacked the issues head on, never gave up, and my business ended up better because of it.
My Website Hosting Recommendations
Today I am very glad to say that none of my websites are hosted with GoDaddy. I currently use and highly recommend HostGator and BlueHost for your web hosting needs. You can browse both options to see which one may be a better fit for you.
Both HostGator and BlueHost offer amazing services for your web hosting needs including the ability to host unlimited domain names, access to Cpanel which gives you numerous easy to use software scripts like one click WordPress installs, and they have 24/7 dedicated hosting numbers. I have nothing bad to say about the services of GoDaddy, other than I prefer them for registering domains because that is what they have always excelled at. I don’t register my domains with my hosting companies.
For the record those links above for HostGator and BlueHost are my affiliate links. If you decide to get web hosting from either of those sites I will get a commission. I use both services and highly recommend them though!
Get Steak From A Steakhouse and Seafood from A Seafood Restaurant
A good way to look at this is that when you want a good steak you will probably go to Outback Steakhouse and if you want good Seafood you would go to something like Red Lobster. They specialize in those things. So I use GoDaddy for my domain registrations and BlueHost and Hostgator for my web hosting. Really though a lot of people have found that they had great success with GoDaddy hosting services.
This is just my two cents! Keep your heads up and keep pushing towards your goals!
