5 Proven Ways To Generate Profitable Ideas

Sometimes the hardest thing online is to come up with ideas that lead to profits for you. These can be ideas for entire products, ideas for articles or blog posts, ideas for niche markets to pursue, etc.

Here are 5 places I turn to when I am trying to come up with profitable ideas in my business. Not only are the places helpful for you, but read how I use each place to find profitable niche markets! This will really open your eyes up to some cool free ways you can do market research!

1. Amazon.com : Go to your favorite search engine and type in “Amazon Bestsellers”. This should bring up Amazon.com’s best sellers list across all the niches they sell in. You can browse for the hot items on everything from electronics to books and more!

When I was just on Amazon while writing this I found the number 2 most popular movie at the moment was a “How To” type video in the fitness niche market. So that means this niche is huge!

2. SourceForge.net: This open source software directory gives you access to literally hundreds of high quality software programs that are free. You can easily create video tutorials on how to best use some of this free software and sell the videos or build more into this niche after you test it out. There is software available for many different niche markets.

3. WarriorForum.com: As you guessed the Warrior Special Offer section within the Warrior Forum is loaded with daily research right at your finger tips. Every single day you can see which Warrior Special Offers are getting the most clicks, responds, and overall interest. This will tell you that it covers a topic people love.

For example I found that anything to do with WordPress seems to go really well on the Warrior Forum within the Internet marketing niche. It proved itself when I promoted more WordPress type offer to my lists. They always converted great and still do!

4. HubPages.com: You can go to Hubpages.com and click on “Topics” in the top navigation to see the topics that are most popular there. This will help you decide on a popular and profitable niche.

5. Flippa.com Just browse recent sites that have sold or sites currently for sale. When searching look out for websites being sold for more than $5,000. After finding these sites for sale browse their listing and see what type of product they were selling and check how they were earning their income if it was from affiliate commissions, Adsense, etc.

The higher priced sites generally are the ones that had good success so it would be wise to pursue the niche those sites are in and look at their sites to get some ideas for design, content, and keywords targeted.

Internet Viral Marketing – How To Borrow Buzz for Traffic and Profits

How To “Borrow” Other People’s Buzz TODAY (Think Traffic!)

Did you know that other people “warm up” your customers for you with their “big product launches”?

And, did you further know, that a huge opportunity for you to create sales for YOUR product or a product you promote as an affiliate can be the result?

If, that is, you “borrow” the buzz that other people are generating.

Imagine this scenario…

Mr. Marketer creates a new $2,000 product.  He “launches” it with his friends.  Everyone on the forums is talking about it.  Every email sent out within the marketplace has something to say about it.  Bloggers are raving.  The whole industry is buzzing about the new launch.

The average conversion rate is 2%.  And that’s not on $2,000 products.  But, let’s assume that Mr. Marketer is the best in the biz.  And he can generate something obscene like 25% conversion rate on a $2,000 offer (which, by the way, ain’t likely to happen).

IF that were to happen, the flipside is this:  75% DON’T BUY.

In other words, for every 100 visitors to the “launch” site, 75 of them walk away without buying.

Were they uninterested?  If that’s the case, they likely wouldn’t have visited the site in the first place.

In the majority of the cases, they $2,000 price tag was out of their reach.  Not in the budget.  Don’t have the money.  Been there, done that … didn’t have the cash to buy the t-shirt!

So, what can we learn from this?

We can learn…

* These 75 out of every 100 who don’t buy are probably interested to some degree.

* These 75 out of every 100 have heard all of the buzz and have been “presold” on the premise of the product.

* These 75 out of every 100 are strong candidates to buy a lower-priced, related alternative.

That’s where YOU come into the picture.

You “borrow” the buzz that’s been generated for the big product being launched by talked about by everyone as you promote a lower-priced, related alternative!

Here’s how you do it…

1. Look for high-dollar launches in your market.

The first step is to keep your eye on the pulse of your market.  Whenever a major new product is being launched, get busy.  You’ll usually know days, if not weeks, in advance because that’s how launches work:  they do a lot of “pre” build-up work to get people salivating for the eventual launch.  Keep your eyes out for anything new in the works.

2. Promote a low-cost alternative.

It doesn’t matter if you write a quick 10-15 page report, promote your own existing product that is related or grab an affiliate link to some other existing product or service.  It doesn’t really matter WHERE you obtain this lower-priced alternative.  The important thing is that you find one.  It needs to be related to the topic of the big product being launched.  It can be related either (a) by teaching a similar concept, or (b) teaching a portion of the big product’s concept.

3. Write a mailing that explains the two options.

You’ll want to write a mailing to send to your subscribers or to post at your blog.  This mailing needs to contain three important elements…

- Content that presells.  Share some meaty nuggets related to the offer you are ultimately going to promote to set the table.

- A small blurb about big launch with your link. Mention the “major” launch briefly.  Describe it’s benefits and use an affiliate link of yours to point to the offer.  Mention that it’s only drawback is “price”.  Express that many people can’t afford it.

- A stronger promotion for your option.  Then, really hit home with this “lower-priced, related alternative”.  Let them know the benefits are similar at a fraction of the cost.  Be sure to point out that it’s priced for everyone — especially those who feel “left out” of the big budget launch because they can’t afford it.

Then, it’s just a matter of getting that mailing out to your subscribers.

Let’s look at what you have in place as a result of this strategy…

* You have two promotions:  a minor one for the same “major” launch everyone else is promoting, and a “major” one for the lower-priced, related alternative.

* You have “borrowed buzz”.  Everyone in the marketplace is warming up prospects with all of their “talk” about the importance of the subject matter of the “big product launch”.  They are primed and ready to buy … something!

* You have a spike in sales coming.

This is a wonderful strategy for getting extra sales.

Remember, there are always a whole lot more people who DON’T buy the product being offered in the “launch”, than those who do!  You’ve got a huge pool of prospects in the 75-98% of people who don’t buy the $2,000 offer.  Many of them WILL buy a lower-priced, related alternative.

So, the only thing left for you to do is get started.

Methods for True Emergency Cash

I don’t want to sound harsh when I write this because I have been in bad situations before. This is just some helpful thoughts for those that are in a desperate situation. I got the urge to write this because of a support ticket I just got done answering for an individual that purchased something from me for over $50.

They wanted to know when I was going to set everything up for them that they just bought from me. Even though I never promised this anywhere in the sales materials that I would set it up for my customers. They demanded that I help them because and I quote; “My house is cold and my children are hungry and even the dogs are ready to start looking good as food.”

I responded to them and said that I would be sending over a refund because the money they just spent with me could buy them and the kids food for at least a week. Then I proceeded to ask them if they can do writing or graphics or something like that because I could help them find some ways to make some fast income.

I feel horrible for this individual, but my reason for refunding them and responding in the way I did is because I want them to understand that if you are in such a desperate horrible situation why would you spend over $50 and then rudely demand from the product owner that they help you now even though it is a holiday nonetheless?

I enjoy helping customers and I love helping people in need, but I really think that if you are in such a bad situation that maybe you should hold onto your money and use that for the most important things which is survival at the moment.

For those struggling right now here are some ideas that may help you get some emergency cash.

1. Start a writing business and do article writing for other Warrior members. Maybe offer your services just to get in the door at $3.50 per article. Sell them in packages of 10 articles. So $35 per package then sell 10 packages. Boom right there you have $350. Now you have a lot of work, but if you do a good job you should be able to retain some of those people or find new ones. I am not saying you need to undersell your services, but if you need money fast then you need to do something drastic to get people to take a risk with you.

2. Start a link building service. Offer to do social bookmarking, blog commenting, forum posts, or other links for maybe $0.35 to $0.50 per link. Sell those in packages of 100 links.

3. Write a report or ebook on something you are knowledgeable about and offer PLR to it and run a WSO for it. Make sure it is quality, but that can make you some money.

4. Contact other Internet marketers through their support desk and offer your services to them. Even if they don’t need it maybe their students need help.

5. Seek out other webmaster forums that have a Buy/Sell/Trade section and offer your services there.

The main thing is that if you are at a point where your option is to feed your kids or buy an IM course I would encourage you to always choose feeding your kids. They are number 1 and the most important. Then make some money using the ideas above to buy that Internet marketing course and take action on it.

How To Get Web Design Clients Step-By-Step

Fellow Internet marketer and a great guy, Justin Brooke of SiteFling.com wrote this amazing article on a step-by-step system for getting web design clients. I really loved his approach and strategy here. What I really liked about it was that you don’t even have to be a website design expert to do this as you can outsource the work.

The important thing is that you take action on this system!

The System

Forgive me if this seems kind of short from here, but it’s a pretty easy system. Please don’t mistake it’s brevity and simplicity for less effectiveness. Sometimes it’s the so-simple-why-didn’t-i-think-of-that systems that are so great.

1.First you are going to look for some local businesses that have websites. Which is much easier today then it was when I started this in 2005. Now you can search Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and many other sites.Once you find the businesses with the websites find 5 or 6 that look like they were designed a long time ago or could really use some improvements. This shouldn’t be too hard since most local business websites are horrendous.

2.Next you are going to pick one of them and re-design their website (or higher someone on scriptlance for $50 – $150). Make sure you take notes as you redesign the site about your reasons for different colors, navigation, buttons, functions, and anything else you change. You’ll need those notes in just a minute.

3.Now that you are finished you call up that company and say… “Hi, my name is Justin Brooke and I’ve redesigned your web site for free and I’d like to show it to someone. Who would that be?”

The gatekeeper won’t be used to this response and will usually be confused enough to just pass you on to the owner/CEO or the right person to talk too. If not just ask for a way that you can make sure he see’s your re-design without taking up his time like an email, fax, or OMG “Snail Mail.” Just make sure you get a way to get your design in front of the decision maker.

4.Once you get the decision maker on the phone you are going to introduce yourself and use this little script that I perfected over the years. “Hey Bob, thanks for taking the call this will be real quick because I know you’re busy. I’ve redesigned your website and I’d like to show it to you. This won’t cost you a thing and you are under no obligation to buy. I just want to show it to you and if you like it you can buy it. If you don’t then we go our separate ways with no harm done. Would Tuesday or Thursday be best?”

That’s it…

Just keep in mind that you aren’t selling anything on this phone call, just getting an appointment. After you ask for the Tuesday or Thursday… SHUT UP! Silence is the strongest sales tool you’ll ever experience because it forces the person on the other end of the call to make a decision.

Seriously, I don’t care if you have to wait 45 minutes, DO NOT be the first person to talk or you will relive their pressure and possible lose the appointment. People are much more comfortable with saying yes then they are saying no so usually they agree to the appointment.

After all it’s free, they have no obligation to buy, and you’ve just redesigned their website… They want what you have.

Closing The Deal At The Appointment

We would then setup the appointment and I would either show them via remote desktop sharing (webinar) software or in person. I would explain all the reasons for my changes and the benefits of the re-design (those notes I told you to take). They would naturally ask how much for the design and I would start off with $2,500 but say that I can work with their budget if they needed a sliding scale.

Then, I would say that I needed a decision in a week though because otherwise I would have to delete theirs. That I only get paid when I sell one of these re-designs, so I can’t afford to wait on them forever.

The urgency along with the sliding scale discount really helped nail down the sales and create impulse buys. Finally I told them that I accept checks through my bank and credit cards thru Paypal.

This system worked just fine until I ended up pursuing other interests like blogging and information marketing. Feel free to use this system exactly as I’ve mentioned to create your own web design business.

What Would I Change Today

If I were to pick this business back up, and I’m very tempted too, then I would most likely outsource the whole thing.

I would hire designers from Scriptlance and pay them either weekly or per project. Then I would hire sales reps from Craigslist and pay them on a commission only structure. The designers would get about 25% of the project and the sales rep would get 25% for each design he sold. Leaving me with 50% for just managing the business.

If the sales rep sold more then 4 designs in a month then I would give him a bonus 10% on his sales to give him an extra incentive to perform at his best.

Website builder services are different from web design because they typically involve the process of setting up the skeleton of a website or blog. For example, uploading word press to domains and setting up the title tag, theme, and contact pages. Furthermore, there are many other similar odd jobs that you can find by offering your time in webmaster forums for various needs webmasters may need.
