Profitable Content Creation – What to Do When You’re Running Out of Content Ideas (3 Big Tips)

Content creation is a great way to bring in more prospects and profits. And you do want more prospects and profits, right? The struggle for many content marketers, both new and experienced, is consistently coming up with ideas for creating content. I’ve noticed that many go through a few stages in their
struggle to come up with content ideas. Let’s take a closer look at those three stages and more importantly, what to do about each one.

3 Stages

Stage 1 – Ideas are not flowing – When you sit down to create content you have to repeatedly stop and think about what to write about. The flow has not stopped, it’s just not as easy as it normally is for you.

What to Do – Step back and brainstorm. Make a list of content ideas. Don’t edit – just brainstorm. This is something you need to be doing anyway, so you always have a list of content ideas from which to pull.

Stage 2 – Ideas are a struggle – Even when you look at a list of your ideas, nothing pops out for you. It feels like you are seeing the ideas on a list, but they are not making sense in your head, and not making the trip from your head to your fingers.

What to Do – Take a trip to your supermarket and check out the titles on the covers of the magazines in the checkout line. Thousands of dollars have been spent deciding how to title these articles. Find titles that you can use in your niche and get busy creating great content.

Stage 3 – You are beginning to believe in writer’s block, even though it does not exist. Ideas are not only not flowing, ideas are just plain stuck. Your frustration level is high, and you’re honestly getting a little bit frightened by your lack of ideas.

What to Do – Go to your topic in EzineArticles and look at some of the top articles in your niche. See which ones are getting lots of traffic. Choose an idea that you know will appeal to your community and simply do a better job with it.This is not plagiarism. This is research because you are simply looking for ideas. You are not copying what someone else has said, you are just going to do a better treatment of it because of your skills.

So in this video I just wanted to give you a brief message to tell you thank you for being a subscriber and blog reader! Before even agreeing to promote this I checked the sales page and checked the Warrior Forum for honest reviews from people. What I saw on the sales page intrigued me because he is teaching honest, straight forward methods that work for him. He is not promising instant riches, he is using his own face in his video, and he is someone that is truly practicing what he teaches.

What I found on the Warrior Forum was people who were actually giving good recommendations of it including a woman in the Warrior Forum who is a senior member that is well respected in our industry. She felt the course had some really awesome parts to it that will help both newbies and advanced marketers wanting to take their blog to the next level.

She did say a drawback was that he didn’t go into 100% of the details on how to setup the plugins and tools he uses for his blogging business. He did provide them though and didn’t leave any of that information out about what he uses. My thought is that this shouldn’t be a hang up for you because you can easily go to YouTube or the Warrior Forum even to find tutorials on how to use these specific plugins if you need it.

I personally can’t say if this is even a problem (which isn’t in my opinion because you can easily find tutorials for those online) because I haven’t had a chance to go through the training yet.

I am not writing this to scare you, but to encourage you that throughout your online business ventures things out of your control will happen. Some of these issues could include websites going down (like today), outsourcers not getting something done for you, important family matters that require you to be taken from your business, your payment processor shutting you down, etc.

Stuff Will Go Wrong

The important point is that stuff will go wrong. How you react to those issues is the important thing. Even though it may be tempting to just give up or walk away you don’t want to do this. An online business is no different than any regular business. Those that are successful time and time again in business and life always attack the issues head on and get to a resolution.

So my online business tip today is to not be shocked when things go wrong, and to never give up no matter what. I know I sound cliche saying this, but it is so true because about everything under the sun has happened to me that impeded my success online the way. My websites have been down numerous times (around busy times even), outsourcers have missed important deadlines for me, many family issues have come up that pulled me from my business along the years, and my payment main payment processor (Paypal) has decided to shut me down numerous times.

Everytime I attacked the issues head on, never gave up, and my business ended up better because of it.

My Website Hosting Recommendations

Today I am very glad to say that none of my websites are hosted with GoDaddy. I currently use and highly recommend HostGator and BlueHost for your web hosting needs. You can browse both options to see which one may be a better fit for you.

Both HostGator and BlueHost offer amazing services for your web hosting needs including the ability to host unlimited domain names, access to Cpanel which gives you numerous easy to use software scripts like one click WordPress installs, and they have 24/7 dedicated hosting numbers. I have nothing bad to say about the services of GoDaddy, other than I prefer them for registering domains because that is what they have always excelled at. I don’t register my domains with my hosting companies.

Get Steak From A Steakhouse and Seafood from A Seafood Restaurant

A good way to look at this is that when you want a good steak you will probably go to Outback Steakhouse and if you want good Seafood you would go to something like Red Lobster. They specialize in those things. So I use GoDaddy for my domain registrations and BlueHost and Hostgator for my web hosting. Really though a lot of people have found that they had great success with GoDaddy hosting services.

The Importance of List Building

Ask any highly successful Internet marketer how they’ve achieved their success and the answer will almost always be, “Building a loyal list of customers.” Just adding people’s names to a list is not what I mean here. The list that’s going to help you most in your marketing campaigns contain those people that you communicate with on a daily basis and whom you’ve developed a relationship with.

The purpose of a list is to share information and convert sales. It’s not just about the sales, it’s about building your list based on good communication and offering something of value. No one wants to belong to a blog or visit a site where they feel that the sale is the ultimate goal. They want to feel as if they have a friend and mentor who offer valuable information that they can use to build their own business or find out new information about a product/subject they’re interested in.

Some lucrative ways to stay in touch with your list of customers and pique their interest:

Updates – If you stumble (or research) on to something that you think your list might be interested in, by all means, send them a notification. Or, if something has changed in the marketing world, such as the recent change that affects sales tax for online purchases in some states – let your list know. They’ll appreciate the notice and think of you as a valuable source of information.

Announcements – Planning a webinar or joining with an affiliate to create some great offers – send your list an announcement and invite them to join. Don’t forget to remind them about the event along the way.

Lucrative Offers – Let your list in on a product by offering them a special link to purchase it at a lower price. They’ll be glad they opted to join your site and/ or participate in your blog if they receive offers of value and that honor them as members of your site.

Offer content that’s relevant to the subject your list is interested in and be sure to build autoresponders to remind your list about offers and to spur them on to action.

Don’t think that simply offering content on your site is enough. You should be aggressive enough to implore your list to take action on products for sale without turning them off.

This can be done if you balance your content with selling.

People want to purchase information and products that will improve their own sites. Buyers need you and you need them. It can be a win-win situation if you’re willing to build a strong bond with your list by taking the time and making the effort to offer

Here are some tips to build a bond with your list:

Be consistent – Don’t keep in touch with your list for a while and then suddenly stop. Their responses (and sales) will also come to an abrupt halt.

Offer valuable information – You can establish yourself as an expert in the field by offering information that will educate your list about your mutual interests. This means that you must stay on top of everything happening in your particular

Build trust – This is one of the most important aspects of building a relationship with your list. Trust is paramount when offering information about yourself or your product. Testimonials should be real testimonials and personal experiences should be actual things you’ve experienced.

Create videos – Videos can pull your list into your personal space and help them to trust you. So many marketers are afraid to “put themselves out there” with videos, but it’s a very effective way to build a special bond with your list. And, the more you do it, the easier it will be.

Newbies, especially, need to consider list building as part of a daily exercise. It won’t happen overnight – but eventually your list might make the difference in becoming a highly successful Internet marketer – and a mediocre one.
