What Can My 11 Month Old Teach You About Making Money Online?
I am the proud father of a wonderful 11 month old girl, and life has really changed for the better since God brought her into the world. The other day she did something that really is applicable to anyone trying to make money online.
To set the stage for this little lesson I have to give you a quick background. She is at that stage in life where she just wants to constantly move and “go places” in the house. We have two couches in our living room, and in between the couches is a large gap so people can enter the living room. If our daughter is in the living room area we will block that opening off with her large play pen, so we don’t have to chase her around the house all day.
Anyways, the play pen was up and my daughter wanted to get to the other side of it because there was something she wanted to get into over there! Even though a large obstacle was in her path she was determined to get over there. I watched in amazement as she used her hands and arms to push the play pen to one side so that she could create a small opening for herself.
She would than attempt to squeeze through that opening, and “fuss” because it wasn’t working out for her, but instead of giving up she would go back to pushing and creating a bigger opening. This went on for a little while until she broke free and went crawling as fast as she could to the object she was after!
Now you are probably wondering what this has to do with making money online. It actually has a lot to do with it. See my daughter knew what she wanted and even though a big obstacle was in her way she found a way to overcome it, and get to what she wanted. All it took was a little persistence, patience, and effort.
Many of us encounter obstacles on our way to making money online, or we “fuss” for a little bit because it doesn’t seem to be going as well as we had originally planned. The big thing to take away from this is don’t ever give up.
If you are reading this blog, chances are you are trying to figure out how to finally make money online, or you are trying to figure out how you can increase your online income. I am here to tell you that with patience, persistence, and a lot of effort I have been able to break free from a regular job, and I work full time from home.

I find myself learning a lot from my children. I remember watching one of my special needs sons trying to sell some chickens out by the road. He was doing everything he could to get people to stop and look at the chickens.
We lived on a side road that does not have a lot of traffic and his sign was right by the drive to our house. Only 1/10 of a mile away was the main road that was very heavily traveled. The traffic he needed was right there but they were not seeing his site where he was selling his product.
So I started to help him and we started some advertising for him. We put up signs for the main traffic stream to know where his product was, and we did some advertising in town with signs and went online and advertised. We let the traffic know where he was and within the hour the chickens were gone.
If the market doesn’t know your product is out there and where to go to find it, you will find it is kind of hard to sell your product.
Just some thoughts I learned from one of my children.

Thank you for the post, and for the lesson. You are very right about how are kids can teach us a lot, and also are right on the money when you talk about how important traffic is to selling. Many people think of making money online like the “Field of Dreams” where “if you build it, they will come”. It would be nice if that were true, but sadly it isn’t.
