Well, as much as this post may make you cringe, SEO is an Internet marketing topic that you should understand if you plan to be successful with your websites. The reason I say this is because understanding Search Engine Optimzation (SEO) can bring you a steady stream of targeted visitors to your websites for free! That means you could receive hundreds or even thousands of visitors to your website that want to purchase the product you are selling, or that want to sign up for your list.

SEO has actually leveled the playing field with small companies and very large companies. For example one of my websites sells pet supplies, and we are in competition with some of the largest Fortune 500 companies online today, and in many cases our product pages come up higher in the search engines. We are doing all of this without paying a dime in advertising! The only thing being utilized is my knowledge of SEO.

Now you are probably thinking well that is great that you can do that with your websites, but what about me?!?! How many of you feel like this?

Another great case study of the power of the search engines is my website which helps college students find the cheapest textbooks online. That website gets tons of college students each semester searching for textbooks, and that is all through some SEO efforts a couple of years ago! SEO is truly powerful!
